With its wild beaches and lush native rainforest, West Auckland has long been an inspiration for generations of New Zealand artists, including Colin McCahon.
Your guide will meet you at Queens Wharf, Auckland city where our journey west will begin. Our first stop will be McCahon House in Titirangi for a private tour of the property. We will learn about his time spent in the area and the influence it had on his work.
Next, we will visit Te Uru Waitakere Contemporary Gallery – a wonderful community gallery that hosts a wide array of exhibitions from ceramics to installation art and contemporary jewellery.
After lunch, we’ll head to the Corban Estate Arts Centre for a tour of this amazing community hub.
The day ends back at Queens Wharf where we will say our farewells.
