Starting at the World War I memorial at the top of Stockade Hill, we’ll enjoy stunning views across the Hauraki Gulf before exploring picturesque Howick Village and some of the beautiful residential streets that surround it.

First settled by Ngai Tai ki Tamaki, the area later became home to one of Auckland’s Fencible communities sent by the British to defend Auckland city from an invasion that never came.

Over the years, Howick has developed into a thriving community with many artists and business owners calling this area home, some of whom we’ll meet during our walk.

We’ll finish the walk with a seated lunch at one of the local eateries in Howick Village. Thanks to the generous support of the Local Activation Fund Programme* this event is completely free for you and your friends to enjoy.

This 3-hr group tour is hosted by a professional local guide with a passion for creative communities and local history.

A ‘must do’ experience in Auckland this June! Numbers are strictly limited so book today to avoid disappointment.
