Come and enjoy a walk through the area with a professional guide.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n Starting at the World War I memorial at the top of Stockade Hill,<\/strong> we\u2019ll enjoy stunning views across the Hauraki Gulf before exploring picturesque Howick Village and some of the beautiful residential streets that surround it.<\/p>\n First settled by Ngai Tai ki Tamaki<\/strong>, the area later became home to one of Auckland\u2019s Fencible communities<\/strong> sent by the British to defend Auckland city from an invasion that never came.<\/p>\n Over the years, Howick has developed into a thriving community<\/strong> with many artists and business owners<\/strong> calling this area home, some of whom we\u2019ll meet<\/strong> during our walk.<\/p>\n This 2-hr group tour<\/strong> is hosted by a professional local guide with a passion for creative communities and local history.<\/p>\n A \u2018must do\u2019 experience in Auckland this Heritage Festival! Bicycles and e-bikes can be taken on Auckland trains. Search online for the best public transport routes.
